Latest Sling Media and Slingbox News from the SlingCommunity
"Before the end of the year." That’s the mantra BlackBerry owners have heard over and over again since the 2008 CES show back in January. It’s still 2008 (barely), but it least they made it. A public beta of SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry is out NOW . BlackBerry owners have been eagerly waiting to watch Slingbox streams from their mobile phones for well over a year. It’s been a long road, but at least some of them (GSM BlackBerry users) get to join the "I watch TV on my cell phone" fan club, which until now had been exclusive to Windows Mobile, Palm, and Symbian users. BlackBerry owners on CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint still have to hold out hope whatever platform glitch preventing SlingPlayer from working will get resolved in the future. While the official launch isn’t until at least midnight Eastern, members here in the community have reported that if you point your Blackberry browser to mobile.slingmedia.com you can download the public beta now. What are you still reading this for? GO get it! Just don’t forget to come back and share your thoughts about it either in the discussion below or in the forums . Have…

So, at this time, I think we are all aware of the somewhat successful comeback of Britney Spears since her disasterous "Blakout" era, which not only describes the name of her album at the time, but an apt description of her life in general. But since then, she’s ditched some of the more unsavory characters present in her life, hired back her old manager, Larry Rudolph, and has released "Circus", an album that reminds some of us of the old Britney many of us loved. Okay, so many of us NEVER liked her, but whether or not you ever did, you gotta admit she’s doin’ a LOT better. And even if you’re not a fan, it is sad. It’s sad because she was just a little girl exploited by her parents and svengali producers because, c’mon, it’s what she wanted! It was her passion, right? So why not exploit– I mean NURTURE her, because there are very few cute, singing and dancing 15-year-old girls with stars in their eyes. *Stepping off her soapbox now* So, Womanizer isn’t, like, a great part of the American pop canon, but it’s kinda okay (btw, she thinks you’re a womanizer, like, 60 times over…
